Jermaine Shelton is a talent manager and creative executive at Brown Leader Management Group and has been active in the entertainment business for over 7 years. Jermaine works alongside partners, Philip Leader and Patricia Brown, specializing in the development of talent primarily based in film and television. In addition to talent management, Jermaine oversees music, literary and all creative projects to potentially be produced under Brown Leader Management.
Inner-City Filmmakers, a non-profit organization, provided Jermaine with his initial first hands-on training experience. He enrolled in the program in the summer of 2000, and as an alumnus, continues to support the group as they continue to educate and empower youth that are interested in film production. Internships and assistant positions were Jermaine’s prerequisite to establishing himself as a manager-producer. Internship opportunities included State Street Pictures (“Men of Honor,” “Barbershop”) and RSA / Scott Free Productions (“American Gangster,” “Gladiator”).
In 2003, Jermaine began working more closely with respected professionals and high-profile talent at Silver Pictures (Joel Silver, “Matrix” franchise). He was involved with feature films such as “Gothika,” “House of Wax” and the television series, “Veronica Mars.”
Jermaine transitioned into talent representation in 2005. He was assistant to talent agents in the youth division at Buchwald Talent Group with clients Hilary Duff (“Lizzy McGuire”), Dania Ramirez (“X-Men: The Last Stand,” “Heroes”) and Jimmy Bennett (“Star Trek”). The demanding and fast-paced environment provided an unlimited amount of experience and exposure.
In 2006, Jermaine joined Brown Leader Management Group. The venture gave Jermaine full responsibilities of a talent manager and the opportunity of seeking, discovering and managing fresh talent and material.
Clients of Jermaine Shelton include Dijon Talton (“Glee,” Fox). Dijon won a 2010 Screen Actors Guild Award (Best Ensemble); “Glee” also received recognition with four 2010 Golden Globe Awards. Other notable talent include Bryce Robinson (“Valentine’s Day”) and British actors Luke Youngblood (“Harry Potter” films), and actor-director, Treva Etienne (“Terminator Salvation”). Treva is best known for his leading roles on the British series, “The Last Train,” “London’s Burning,” and the BAFTA/RTS award-winning drama series, “Holding On” (BBC).
