Launch Mondays is pleased to announce Susan Michals, Editor at Large for “The Collective as host of February’s installment of our networking mixer!
Susan writes for a number of publications, including Venice Magazine,Geek Monthly, Malibu and The Collective (coming March 2010). She’s even been in Madame Figaro. Her articles range from an idyllic afternoon rehashing Beatles lyrics and conversing in broken French with Eddie Izzard, to chatting with Spinal Tap about the hidden meaning of “Sex Farm.” She has discovered what’s behind that famous Golden Door, had a few great conversations with Dominick Dunne, and experienced all that is the Oscars (except the show itself). In addition, she covers a variety of events for the aforementioned magazines, as well as various others.
In short form, Susan has created promos that have made Hef proud, Kardashians cry, and Joel McHale a better person. She’s also created a slew of interstitials and sales reels for the likes of MIPCOM and NATPE, though she usually doesn’t get the free trip to Cannes or Vegas to show them off. In long form, she just finished a documentary on the evolution of the American Chick Flick for ARTE that will air this December in France and Germany. Previous producing experiences include – but are not limited to – the joys of talking dog yoga, how to cobble together a motorcycle in under 10 days, and gastric bypass surgery performed in a former President’s home state (though he was never a patient).
Some of the networks she has worked for include:
