Born in Illinois and raised in Georgia, Keith “KB” Brown has found a way to combine his love of music and film. He graduated from the Grady College of Journalism at the University of Georgia in 2002, earning a bachelors in Media Management combined with a Film Studies minor. During his stay at UGA, he not only headed the campus film committee and was a radio programmer for the campus’ radio station, but he gained on the job experience by participating in internships at Universal Records, Walt Disney World, Brillstein-Grey Entertainment and So So Def Recordings.

Upon graduation, he promptly moved to Los Angeles taking a position in music video production for Universal/Motown Records working with artists such as Nelly, Lindsay Lohan, Brian McKnight, Akon, 3 Doors Down, Lil’ Wayne, India.Arie, Cash Money and a host of others. Quickly climbing the ranks, he gained two years of experience in music video production and marketing on the record label side which segued him to The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank. There he worked on soundtrack marketing and music videos to promote films, television shows and DVD releases with an emphasis on urban-oriented material. He worked alongside artists such as Alicia Keys, Missy Elliot, Ciara, Rascal Flatts, Chris Brown, Sean Paul and the Cheetah Girls to achieve record-breaking opening weekends of major films including “Step Up,” “Glory Road,” “Cars,” “Stick It,” “Chicken Little” and “Herbie: Fully Loaded,” along with their accompanying soundtracks.

In 2005, Keith partnered with acclaimed Hip Hop artist and actor Kirk “Sticky Fingaz” Jones (multi-platinum rap group Onyx, “Blade: The Series,” “Next Friday,” “Flight Of The Phoenix,” “Clockers,” “Dead Presidents”) as General Manager of Sticky’s production company, Major Independents. This multi-faceted company produces films, music, clothing, television shows, documentaries and packages Onyx tours both domestically and internationally. Major Independents came out of the box hard with its first innovative project, “A Day In The Life,” which is a musical feature film set entirely to rap music as the dialogue. Sticky Fingaz wrote, directed and stars. Lionsgate Films released the project which is available in stores NOW! The film includes heavy hitters such as Mekhi Phifer, Omar Epps, Michael Rapaport, Drena De Niro, Clarence Williams III, Fredro Starr, Bokeem Woodbine, Ray J and Malinda Williams. The soundtrack is available on iTunes now and was released in stores August 18, 2009 by Major Independents/Tommy Boy featuring all new music from Onyx and Sticky Fingaz. In 2008, Major Independents wrapped its second Hip Hop musical, “Caught On Tape,” which is presently in post production. Stars of this feature film include Vivica A. Fox, Cedric the Entertainer, Kel Mitchell, Keith Robinson, Angie Stone, J. McCoy and Malik Yoba. KB produced both films and couldn’t be more thrilled with the results as they combine his two loves, Hip Hop and Film. Keep an eye out for these two groundbreaking movies and their accompanying soundtracks, as well as a third solo album from Sticky Fingaz. Onyx toured Russia, Europe, South America, Canada and the U.S. in 2009 for their “Black Rock” tour. Keith served as Executive Producer on a DVD entitled “Onyx: 15 Years of Videos, History and Violence” which was released June 10, 2008 as well as a forthcoming documentary called “How To Make A Major Independent Movie” and the digital concert film “Onyx Live Overseas”. A brand new Onyx album entitled “The Black Rock” will be in stores mid-2010 from Major Independents/Tommy Boy. It will have a rock & roll flair, Executive Produced by KB who recently brokered at three year distribution deal for Major Independents through Tommy Boy Records.

2007 marked the birth of KBiz Entertainment, a full service management firm housing diverse clients such as Streamline/Interscope Hip Hop artist and “Caught On Tape” star J. McCoy, legendary Hip Hop group Onyx, “Step Up 2 The Streets” star Black Thomas, “Hell Date” and “Stomp The Yard” actor/producer Sean Riggs, singer/songwriter/actress Heidi Marie, Award-Winning photographer Kate sZatmari, Hip Hop icon/Onyx frontman/actor Fredro Starr, Chicago rapper and Cash Money Records affiliate Gotti, actress Lindsay Seim and Infamous/G-Unit Hip Hop recording artist 40 Glocc.

Keith and KBiz Entertainment are producing a film adaptation of the best-selling novel “B-Boy Blues,” a dance instructional DVD called “Hollywood Hip Hop” with Black Thomas, the television version of Maurice Jamal’s hit movie “The Ski Trip,” a Sticky Fingaz reality show entitled “Sticky Situations,” a viral television series called “The Real McCoy Of Beverly Hills” starring J. McCoy and a film adaptation of the hit stage musical “Phi’LA”.

Keith serves as Head Of Production for Cash Money Records producing music videos for their roster of artists including Lil Wayne, Birdman, Kevin Rudolf, Young Money, Drake, Glasses Malone, 2 Pistols and Jay Sean.
