Jennifer Champagne, is co-owner of Max Ink Cafe, LLC and Max Ink Productions, LLC, an animation and effects house/production house in Venice, California. Jennifer oversees all Max Ink business and production issues.
Jennifer is a great supporter of the independent spirit, eager to jump in and lend both her energy and that of Max Ink’s. As a result of this dedication, Max Ink Cafe/Max Ink Productions has contributed to twelve short films over the past eight years including Blue, Choose Life, The Dancing Cow, Shadow of Doubt, The Story of Computer Graphics, the effects-laden shorts Only Hope and Pearl Harbor II: Pearlmageddon, Betrunner, Nooner, Aubrey Vox, Lonesome Matador, Effloresce and Last Supper (with Effloresce and Last Supper currently in post production).
In the case of Only Hope, Betrunner, Nooner, Aubrey Vox, Lonesome Matador, Effloresce and Last Supper, Jennifer produced the films from live action to post production—including special effects when called for. She not only crewed the productions, but also successfully solicited donations of time and resources from industry relationships to help foster the independent budgets into greater production value.
Since starting Max Ink, Jennifer has produced the effects on other notable projects such as American Zoetrope’s Jeepers Creepers, NCIS, Infested, Shakedown, the Emmy Award-winning Superbowl XXXII, Dragon Rage, the Black Scorpion series (Episodes 12 through 23), Profiler, X-Files, Freakylinks, Even Stevens, Players, and Nitro Film’s Logo. The latter won Max Ink Cafe the Animation Magazine Animation Spotlight Award.
Jennifer is currently in post production on her first feature film documentary Border—a film that explores border security and immigration within the United States. This past year in addition to producing the film Last Supper with Harry Belafonte – Jennifer produced the visual effects on 2006’s Sundance Film selection Wristcutters: A Love Story, Hood of Horror, Cult, and Swedgeville. Additionally, she produced and directed the premiere Pilate’s video for VersaStick starring Erin O’ Brien. Jennifer is currently developing a handful of feature film projects including Nevermore, Fanclub, Finding Henry, A Childhood, di Dienes, and Mr. Sperm.
Jennifer is also passionate about supporting women in achieving their goals. As founder of Chicks In Film, she connects a group of industry women ranging from Writers to Directors to Producers to Studio Executives who share resources and strive to empower women in the industry.
