We are pleased to announce that Lisa Osborne is one of our four hosts this month. Lisa Osborne is a partner and head of programming & production for Jigsaw Global. The company teaches digital media literacy to entertainment professionals. It offers two services: 1) Custom new media workshops for film festivals and TV conferences; 2) Private new media coaching for entertainment professionals in Los Angeles. As with language immersion programs, the goal is not fluency, but instead, a giant leap forward in the digital vocabulary of each participant. For more information, please see http://www.jigsawglobal.com or email info (at) jigsawglobal dot com.
Like any true, dot-com veteran, Lisa has earned her start-up stripes—a few times. She was part of the Atlanta launch team that produced Turner Network Television’s first website with original, not repurposed, content. Then she became the first, full-time internet hire at adidas corporate headquarters in Germany, expanding the vision for their site and turning it into one of the leading sports company destinations on the web. Needing a change from building websites, she joined an interactive television company in the Bay Area next. Her career has been characterized by a fascination with trying new things, running decentralized teams, and teaching. Jigsaw Global is her latest start-up enterprise, focusing on solving a problem that she noticed repeatedly, while working on projects for abc, NBC, American Film Institute, Cartoon Network, ESPN, DIRECTV, MTV, Big Spaceship, Oregon Public Broadcasting, the World Cup, David Beckham, the French Open, and the All Blacks over the past decade. How can we connect “old media” professionals with “new media” contacts and information? How can we accelerate change and encourage collaboration among different fields? Lisa is excited about sharing her expertise with peers in the film and TV worlds and introducing them to leaders in digital media.
